Mitsubishi Fuzion Recall announced by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines

Mitsubishi Fuzion
Did you buy a Mitsubishi Fuzion between June 2007 and February 2012? It may be affected by a special safety recall announced by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) due to a potential failure of its steering-column intermediate shaft.
MMPC said that while no such failure has been reported, it was directed by its principal, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Japan, to conduct the safety recall on 2,137 units of the Fuzion multipurpose vehicle.
"The safety recall is to inspect and replace (if needed) the steering-column intermediate shaft," Mitsubishi Motors Philippines in a statement. "MMPC was informed that some batches of steering-column intermediate shafts produced between 2007 and 2012 were suspected to have insufficient welding that may result to failure."
MMPC said the inspection and replacement of the affected part is estimated to take 1.5 hours at the most. Mitsubishi service centers nationwide have been alerted to conduct the inspection and necessary repairs on affected Fuzion units.
Customer-service representatives of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines have been mobilized to trace the carmaker's database for the units involved in the Fuzion recall.
Mitsubishi will also publish the vehicle identification numbers (VIN) of the affection Fuzion units via its website, www.mitsubishi-motors.com.ph. If you want to check for yourself if your Fuzion is affected by the recall, you can check your VIN here.
For inquiries and additional concerns, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines encourages its clients to call the MMPC Customer Care Center at (+632) 658-0673. The hotline is available from Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm.
